I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two-time world boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making massive paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
